Compostable Bin Liners - Green - Roll

Compostable Bin Liners - Green - Roll

Made from a natural starch-based polymer and accredited to AS4736-2006, these compostable bin liners are suitable for either home or industrial composting.

For the disposal of organic or biodegradable waste (such as food, garden, or paper waste)
For example: food scraps, spent floral arrangements, used facial tissues or paper towel

- Suitable for home or industrial composting
- Suitable for burying in the ground

- Not suitable for recycling
- Not suitable for worm farms
- Will not biodegrade in an anaerobic (air-locked) landfill

Made from certified compostable bioplastics, these compostable bin liners safely turn into healthy compost in just 12 weeks in an industrial composter or a little longer in your garden.
The bags ultimately turn into carbon dioxide, water, and non-toxic raw materials.

They can be buried in the garden, put in your own compost bin - and may also be discarded within domestic food-waste bins, collected by industrial composting services and some councils.

Compostable bin liners are “shelf stable”, just like paper plates or paper towels. They will not decompose until they are introduced to the earth’s elements or micro-organisms in the soil. The bags ultimately turn into carbon dioxide, water, and non-toxic raw materials.

Compostable bin liners “breathe”, which allows heat and moisture to escape or evaporate. This feature reduces bacterial build-up of collected waste, thus reducing odor.

Bright green colour is easily differentiated from traditional plastic bags and non-compostable bags which cause contamination.

Note: The 8 Litre size bin liner fits our 7 Litre Kitchen Compost Bin.

FOR BEST RESULTS
- Store in a dry, cool area.
- Use within 12 months of purchase
- Replace every couple of days once exposed to organic matter
- Don't put hot liquids inside the bag

ECO TIP
The goal is to help divert all naturally biodegradable waste (such as food waste, garden waste, pet waste and paper waste) from entering our landfills.

If any of these items are placed in an anaerobic (air-locked) landfill and deprived of oxygen and the existence of the micro-organisms that "eat" biodegradable materials, their natural ability to biodegrade can be severely diminished.

THE BIN LINER DILEMMA
Plastics are a major pollutant in our environment and waterways. Traditional plastic bin liners take over 400 years to biodegrade.
Compostable bin liners biodegrade with your organic waste into healthy compost in just 12 weeks in an industrial composter, or a little longer in your garden.
However, they require a warm, oxygen-rich environment to break down.
So, they will not biodegrade in Australian landfill.
There is a lot of debate about what bin liners are best for the dry, oxygen-deprived anaerobic conditions in Australian landfills.
